Dad Stops Speaking To Kids After Divorce. Months Later, Teen Sees Sister’s Dress And Is Stunned

Divorce is hard on families. According to DivorceStatistics.org, there were over 2 million marriages in the United States in 2014. There were over 810,000 divorces that same year. Most of you may already know that about 41% of all marriages end in divorce, and that is true around the world – not just in the United States.

Scientific American reported that 1.5 million children are affected by divorce. Most parents are very concerned about the fate and welfare of their children during that terribly unhappy time. Many parents fear that getting a divorce is more harmful than just staying together in an unhappy marriage.

But, in the long run, children will essentially be able to adjust to a divorce over time. Mohammad and Noor Hasher’s parents got a divorce last November, and their dad stopped talking to them.

No one has heard from him for months. Mohammad, 17, has been filling the role for his 6-year-old sister, Noor. One morning, Mohammad noticed that Noor had on a dress.

It was the day of the father-daughter dance at her school. Mohammad asked her why she had the dress on when she wasn’t going to the dance.
