An elderly couple had found a dog tied up with a chain in the middle of the woods.
The dog had swollen paws and was very thin. His skin was also infected.
So the couple immediately untied him and brought him home with them.

Athough they had tried their best to help the dog, they lacked the appropriate supplies.
The dog rested a dirty porch and was treated with Benadryl only.

The dog needed special medical care, more what the couple could provide for him.
Fortunately, a passerby saw the dog and contacted Mysti Boehler.
She was the founder of StreetsToSheets Animal Rescue, a nonprofit organization which was based out of Texas.
Despite the costs, Mysti had agreed to help immediately.

Mysti arrived on the 1st of April and took him in, naming him “Mowgli”.

Mysti could only touch one area of his face without him yelping in pain.
So he was brought to the vet for an examination, and was found to have multiple injuries.
Despite the diagnosis, Mysti did not give up on Mowgli.

She spent the next few weeks caring for Mowgli by giving him antibiotics, pain medication, and medicated baths.
Along with plentiful amounts of food.

Mowgli only wanted someone to give him plenty of love and attention.

His pictures and videos were posted on the StreetsToSheets Facebook page by Mysti.
After-which, Mowgli started to receive multiple gifts from the netizens, ranging from toys to a new bed!

One gift in particular was Mowgli’s favourite.
He had received an Easter basket that contained a stuffed bunny and dog treats from Christa Chilcote, a resident in Pennsylvania.

Christa’s house was approximately 1,200 miles away from Mysti’s house, so she had thought that she would only admire Mowgli from a distance.
Besides, she already lived with other three dogs and her family.
However, Christa eventually could not stand the distance between herself and Mowgli.

Mysti and Christa were already acquainted with each other before Mysti even thought of putting Mowgli up for adoption.
So when the idea was brought up, Mysti knew who she could count on.

After spending one month with Mysti, Mowgli was ready to leave for his forever home with Christa.

Christa showered Mowgli with plenty of loving care after his arrival, with cuddling and belly-rubbing being his favourites.

Mowgli also got along well with Christa’s sister, Jovie, and Ramsey, another family dog.

On the 20th of May, a celebration named Mowgli day was held at the same shop where Mowgli had received his Easter basket from Christa.

Showered with plenty of loving care, his family had crafted a special diet for him and his fur was regularly rubbed with organic coconut oil.
Now, Mowgli has grown back his fur.

Christa stated that she would rather have Mowgli than anything else.
Just as Mysti promised Mowgli, his life had changed for the better.
Even after everything that has happened to him, Mowgli is still a sweet dog and we all hope that he will continue to live happily in his current home!
