I am no fan of spiders. I do realize that some spiders help eliminate other pests, but when I walk in my yard, the last thing I want to do is get a face full of spider web! In Queensland, Australia, Lauren Ansell was cooking dinner when they were shocked to have an unwelcome visitor! Do you see the large dinner plate sized spider hanging there?!

YIKES! This spider is a huntsman spider – Ansell and her boyfriend named their ‘guest’ Aragog from the Harry Potter movie. Seems like a good name – but what are you supposed to do when a giant spider shows up at your door?

It isn’t like the ones here in the US that are small and easy to ‘dispatch!’ According to the Animal Corner, a huntsman spider can measure up to 15cm across!
