‘Aggressive’ Pit Bull Was About To Be Euthanized, But Police Force Decides To Give Him A Chance

Everyone deserves a second chance, animals and humans alike. Sometimes, their behaviour were just simply misunderstood. Leonard, the pitbull, got his second chance from the local police department. This pitbull was sent to The Union County Humane Society. His temperament was mistaken for aggressiveness and this would potentially prevent people from adopting him.

He was initially scheduled for euthanization but one person changed Leonard’s fate. That person was the Humane Society Director, Jim Alloway. He decided to test Leonard’s personality by approaching him with a dog toy. Jim found out that Leonard was actually playful, not aggressive. Jim had seen similar traits before and felt that Leonard was suitable to be a K9 dog.

So Jim contacted Storm Dog K9 Training and they agreed to work with Leonard.

Although Leonard was untrained, he quickly excelled in his K9 training.

He is now partnered with Chief Terry Mitchell, and was officially certified as an official police dog!
